Step 1: Open a CFD trading account
I'm new to CFDs, where do I start?
The first step is to open an account. You can open an account either by downloading and printing a PDF form or if you prefer, popping into our office in Raffles Place.
Do I need to send any documents to open an account with IG Markets?
You are required by the MAS to provide us with relevant documentation before opening an account. These documents include a passport, Identity Card or Driving Licence; and a proof of address such as a recent bank statement.
Can I apply from outside Singapore?
We can open a Singaporean account for people from most Asian countries including Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. If applying from outside Singapore, you should send notarised copies of either your passport or driving licence, plus a proof address.
Step 2: Choose an account type
Which type of account should I apply for?
We offer a number of different types of account, each suited to varying levels of experience and risk capital. If you are new to CFDs you may wish to consider our Limited Risk Account, where Guaranteed Stop Losses must be attached to all trades so that you know exactly how much is being risked.
In addition to individual accounts, we also offer corporate, trust and joint accounts. To apply for these, simply download an application form.
Can I use the Guaranteed Stop on all account types?
Yes, all our account types allow access to the full range of our Guaranteed Stops.
