How can I learn more about trading CFDs?

We provide a free, dedicated Education Guide to clients. It is a six-week course designed to guide you through your first steps of CFD trading. During this course you can also trade at a fraction of the normal contract size, to help reduce your risk while you are getting used to trading CFDs. We also provide free access to our extensive library of On Demand and our In person seminars.

Is TradeSense free to join?

Can I open a Demo account?

Yes, we offer free two-week Demo accounts, which provide access to some of our trading platform's (but not Insight's) features and markets. However, many of our clients find it easier to open a full live account. We do not require a minimum account opening balance and through our TradeSense programme you can trade at a fraction of the normal contract size. Full accounts also provide access to our Insight news, analysis and dealing centre.

What is Direct Market Access (DMA)?

Direct Market Access (DMA) allows you to trade directly into the forex order book and the order book of the world's major equity exchanges. Using PureDMA, the DMA version of our trading platform, you can place orders inside the market spread and examine market depth to gauge the liquidity on either side of the exchange. PureDMA can be activated in our trading platform, under My Account>Settings>Preferences. It is free to active clients. We also offer L2 Dealer, a downloadable DMA platform, designed for professional traders.

Can I trade share CFDs at the underlying market price?

Yes, with IG you always trade at the guaranteed market price on share CFDs. Other CFD providers may add a spread to the bid/offer price, but with us the price you see is the real price in the market. Read more...
